Patient experience
On arrival at Hibernian Aviva Health Xpress Med Emergency Care Clinic you will be greeted by our dedicated team and they will register your details. You will then be assessed by the emergency nurse and depending on your condition you may require basic first aid and measurement of your vital signs. An ECG will be performed, if required. You will then be examined by our registrar/consultant team and appropriate investigations and treatment offered. Such investigations may include an additional cost:
After treatment you will be discharged with after care advice and a prescription if necessary. Occasionally your condition may warrant referral to a local emergency department. Our team will endeavor to expedite your journey to and through the emergency department. Alternatively you may be offered a follow-up appointment with your consultant or specialist nurse in the Hibernian Aviva Health Xpress Med Urgent Care Centre. In the majority of cases it will be more appropriate to refer you back to your own GP for ongoing primary care expertise.
